Study Abroad Scholarships
The American Austrian Foundation
The AAF provides fellowships for postgraduate education in medicine, media and the arts. Each year we award more then 1500 fellowships on a meritocratic basis to qualified recipients.
The American-Scandinavian Foundation (ASF)
The American-Scandinavian Foundation (ASF) offers fellowships (up to $23,000) and grants (up to $5,000) to individuals to pursue research, study or creative arts projects in one or more Scandinavian country for up to one year. The number of awards varies each year according to total funds available. Awards are made in all fields.
Asia Exchange wishes to encourage students to study abroad in Asia. We award scholarships in value of up to 500 €.
Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship
Awards of up to $7500 per year to undergraduate science and mathematics students for their last year or two of undergraduate study and planning a career in science or mathematics. Awards in two categories: two-year scholarships to those who will be juniors and one-year scholarships to those who will be seniors. Must have at least a B average and be a US citizen, resident alien, or US national.

BRIC Language Systems Go Global Scholarship
We are a company that is dedicated to education and language learning and we are committed to helping students get the global experience that they need to thrive in their careers. That is the genesis of the BRIC “Go Global” Scholarship which awards one recipient a $1,000 scholarship to help further their education and language learning. Summer deadline: May 4; All other terms: June 30.
Bridging Scholarships for Study in Japan
The Association of Teachers of Japanese Bridging Project offers scholarships to assist students with the travel and living expenses while studying abroad in Japan. Japanese language study is not a prerequisite. Scholarships are $2,500 (for students on semester-long programs) or $4,000 (for students on academic year programs).

CRCC Asia’s China Internship Program provides one, two, or three month internships in Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen. Fluent English is the only language requirement and there is a program start date each month of the year.
We work with over 400 top companies in China to offer a wide range of placements across various industries including finance, law, marketing/PR, engineering, accounting, pharmaceuticals, NGO's and many others. All accommodation and visa processing is included in the program, as well as a variety of social and business events.

Conference on Asian Pacific American Leadership (CAPAL) Scholarship
Awarded annually since 1992, CAPAL's scholarships have enabled promising students with leadership potential to pursue public service internships in Washington, DC, while learning how to influence policy decisions that affects their communities. CAPAL Scholars are awarded $2,000 each for the successful completion of a summer internship of their choice, as well as the development of a Community Action Plan.
Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange for Young Professionals (CBYX)
Awards for students and recent graduates who are interested in experiencing German culture and everyday life through internship and study. CBYX is primarily designed for business, engineering, technical, vocational, and agricultural fields, though applicants from all fields may apply. Applicants from community and technical colleges are especially encouraged to apply. Participants spend a year (July - July) studying and working in their career fields while completely immersed in German language and culture.

Don and Jan Alper established this scholarship in 2010 to honor and celebrate the life of their daughter Elyse and carry forward her lifelong joy of traveling and establishing friendships across continents. Financial Aid for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Students
Foundation for Asia-Pacific Education
The Foundation awards scholarships to help enable students to obtain an international experience in the Asia Pacific region. Students who are from underrepresented populations in international education are a priority. Students may may apply for any of the four scholarships available from the Foundation provided you meet the eligibility requirements for each one. They are:

Freeman ASIA awards encourage study abroad in East and Southeast Asia. Awards are in the amount of $3000 (semester), $5000 (semester/qtr) and $7000 (academic year).
A wide range of one-year grants to support study, research, and/or teaching abroad. Over 100 countries participate. May include study at a foreign university, research, classes at a conservatory or art school, special project in the social sciences or sciences, or combinations thereof. US citizen; BA or equivalent.
Fund for Education Abroad
Applicants must be US citizens or permanent residents currently enrolled as undergraduates in US universities/colleges who plan to study abroad for at least four weeks. Awards are intended to support students planning to participate in high-quality, rigorous education abroad programs.

Gates Cambridge Scholarship
Scholarships to study or conduct research at Cambridge University with long-term goal of producing future leaders to address global problems related to heath, equality, technology, and learning. Applicants must be admitted to a Cambridge College.
German Chancellor Scholarship Program
The Alexander von Humboldt Foundation awards twenty German Chancellor scholarships each year to young professionals with outstanding credentials and leadership qualities who want to do research in Germany for one year. The scholarships are awarded to ten U.S. citizens in the private, public, not-for profit, cultural and academic sectors. Prior knowledge of German is not required.
Global Affairs Canada
Global Affairs Canada, through its International Scholarships Program (ISP) is responsible for the management and administration of a number of international scholarship opportunities for Canadians and non-Canadians.
Benjamin Gilman Scholarship
Gilman Scholarships of up to $5,000 will be awarded this academic year for U.S. citizen undergraduates to study abroad. Award amounts will vary depending on the length of study and student need with the average award being $4,000. Undergraduate students who are receiving federal Pell Grant funding at 2-year or 4-year colleges or universities are eligible to apply. Gilman Scholarship Info for Students
Students who apply for and receive the Gilman Scholarship to study abroad are now eligible to receive an additional $3,000 Critical Need Language Supplement from the Gilman Program for a total possible award of up to $8,000.

Awards of up to $5,000 for tuition, fees, room and board. NSEP David L. Boren Undergraduate Scholarship
The National Security Education Program (NSEP) provides a unique funding opportunity for U.S. students to study world regions critical to U.S. interests (including Africa, Asia, Central & Eastern Europe, Eurasia, Latin America & the Caribbean, and the Middle East). The countries of Western Europe, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand are excluded.
NSEP Boren Scholarships provide funding for summer, semester or yearlong study. The maximum award is $8,000 for a summer; $10,000 for a semester and $20,000 for a full academic year. NSEP emphasizes the importance of language study as a major component of the study abroad program.
