Five weeks of French immersion! Obtain 10 credits for a French major/minor in Montréal, Québec, the 2nd largest French-speaking city in the world.

  • Pre-departure on-campus dates: June 13-15, 2022

  • On-site program dates: July 3-August 6, 2022

  • Post-travel program dates: August 7-12, 2022

Language classes are held in the morning followed by daily group activities in the afternoons and evenings. Classes are conducted in French with a focus on Canadian French and culture (language, food, ideology, summer events, etc.).

Hosted by the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM) with weekend excursions.

Students will conduct research and create a blog (in French) documenting their experiences abroad as part of their course work.

Expectations of Participants

Activities include visits to museums and cultural sites. With or without reasonable accommodations, must be able to: sit for three hours of classroom work four days/week, walk for over two hours at a time in warm weather, climb stairs, and stand for prolonged periods.

Housing in shared apartments at the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM) provides full amenities including refrigeration.
