Hazel Wallin is working on a WWU double major in Environmental Studies and German—which makes her a perfect program assistant for this GLP to Switzerland and Italy. She is passionate about creating resilient food systems, especially in urban settings. She enjoys researching mycology and wild foods, and was awarded a grant to help the Outback Farm integrate a mushroom garden into its permaculture area. Her favorite traveling activities are cave exploration, ziplining, Summer-Rodelbahns, and long hikes in search of beautiful natural vistas. She is excited about working with us on our many field trips and the Maremma excursion.
