Rachel Pafe is a writer and researcher interested in modern German-Jewish thought, interdisciplinary theories of mourning, and diasporic politics of remembrance. She collaborates across disciplines, including projects with artists, religious historians, philosophers, and game designers. From 2019-2022, she and artist and game designer Aidan Wall co-ran The Word for World is…, a project exploring the intersection of religious thought and world-making in tabletop roleplaying games (RPGs). Since 2020, Rachel has run Reading in Constellation, a reading group and publication project dedicated to modern Jewish thinkers in conversation with contemporary voices from feminist thought, Black Studies, Islamic thought, and beyond. She writes widely on topics ranging from Britney Spears to Sabbatai Zvi for publications including The Baffler, Radical Philosophy, Marginalia Review of Books, Protocols, and the Conversationalist. She is currently a PhD candidate at the University of Leipzig.
