Sasha Petrenko is Assistant Professor of Sculpture at Western Washington University, where she teaches courses in sculpture, including woodworking, welding and bronze casting, digital fabrication, video and sound art. Rooted in eco-feminism, Sasha’s creative practice blends, sculpture, theater, video and sound. She has been awarded residencies, and fellowships from the Zellerbach Family Foundation, the Headlands Center for the Arts, The Djerassi Foundation, Robert Wilson’s Watermill Center, New York, and Oberpfälzer Künstlerhaus in Germany. Recent performances include Northwest New Works, On the Boards, in Seattle, 2019, Power of Language, Wesleyan College, CT, 2021 and the

Bellingham Alternative Library in 2022. Most recently, Sasha started Sound.Out.Radio, the Art Department’s new radio station, manages Western’s newest STEAM Center and is preparing for a solo show in 2023 at the Jack Straw Cultural Center in Seattle.
